Business Development Manager
This is a new position at API and reflects the sustained growth and success of the organization. The Business
Development Manager will build business relationships with US Military as well as their contractors and vendors
to enable the Company to increase revenues and meet corporate goals. Business growth is expected to leverage existing
products and technologies while providing areas for the company to expand its capabilities and vertical application reach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes strategies for establishing partnerships and business relationships with companies and government
organizations to directly or indirectly increase the sales of products and services.
Seeks out and researches prospective projects through meetings, phone calls, travel, attending conferences, industry
events and utilizing open source information.
Estimates demand for proposed projects based on market research and consumer trends.
Works to ensure customer requirements and expectations are well defined and met according to plan.
Identifies new business opportunities. Develops and presents business cases for opportunities.
Forecasts opportunities and closes new business.
Provides support to upper management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business
development or alliance development projects.
Works closely with product management and engineering departments to ensure new product requirements and schedules will
meet approved business development initiatives.
Works with marketing communications staff to plan targeted marketing and promotional initiatives.
Travels to business meetings, conferences and events as required. This shall include overnight business trips.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent required with an advanced degree preferred and minimum 8 years relevant experience.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
Active security clearance (strongly referred) or must submit personal information for and successfully receive one.
Other Qualifications
Must have substantial experience in Sale and/pr Business Development within the US DoD, Military or Intelligence Community
and a basic knowledge of their communications and computing environments, particularly classified voice and data processing
systems.
Most activities will be self-directed, requiring a self-motivated individual focused on accomplishing goals without constant
supervision.
