What is TSG?

Telephones, video teleconferencing (VTC) systems, webcams, headsets, and other audio-visual equipment can be a great benefit to worker productivity. They also introduce a myriad of security risks to areas containing sensitive information. Microphones, speakers and cameras are known to transit communications, either deliberately or unintentionally, in manners not inherent in their original design.

To counter the threat of unintended voice and video transmissions, the U.S. Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), through its NTSWG joint working group, maintains the Telecommunications Security Group (TSG) standards for voice and video products. API develops and manufactures voice and video products designed to meet and certified to the telecommunications security standards.

Note: Historically, CNSS publishes the TSG Standards on its website at CNSS TSG Standards
